State of AI Visibility: Project-Management Tools in the DACH Market (2026)

Deutschland · measured June 10, 2026

We asked the six leading AI engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Copilot — which project-management tools they recommend in Germany, across 1,260 real queries. The top five are all international; the best DACH tool, Projektron BCS, ranks 6th.

When a buyer asks an AI assistant for the best project-management software, the answer is increasingly the buying decision itself — there is no page of ten blue links left to scroll. We measured how 15 tools (7 from the DACH region, 8 international) appear across all six leading AI engines for German-language, buyer-intent questions. Each tool's AI Visibility Score (0–100) blends how often it is mentioned, how prominently, its share of voice against rivals, citations and sentiment.

Key findings

  • All five top spots go to international tools — Asana, Jira, monday.com, ClickUp and Trello. The highest-placed DACH tool, Projektron BCS, lands 6th.
  • DACH project-management tools average an AI Visibility Score of 61, versus 66 for international tools — a measurable gap that holds consistently across all six engines.
  • Asana leads at 75, but no tool owns the category — even Asana holds only about 52% share of voice. AI visibility here is winnable, not locked up.
  • The leaders are near-ubiquitous: Asana, Jira, monday.com and Trello appear in 99–100% of the relevant AI answers, while several DACH tools surface in only about 55–65% — simply absent from many answers.
  • Where you appear depends on the engine: Perplexity mentions brands most often (84% on average), Copilot and Google AI Overviews follow (~82%), and ChatGPT is the most selective (67%).
  • The mid-field is mixed: international tools like Wrike, Smartsheet and Notion sit alongside the DACH tools around a score of 60 — focused AEO work can close the gap to the leaders.

Methodology

Method: 15 tools × 6 AI engines (ChatGPT via GPT-4o-mini, Perplexity Sonar, Gemini 2.5 Flash, Claude Sonnet, plus Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot via a licensed SERP provider) × 7 buyer-intent prompts × 2 runs = 1,260 real queries, all in German for the German market, measured June 2026. Scores aggregate only real (non-degraded) answers; coverage was 100%, so every tool was measured on the identical engine set and the ranking is strictly like-for-like. Results are a point-in-time snapshot and AI answers are non-deterministic.
